Etching of an owl on a dead tree. Canoe-shaped cogwheel with a “Whirling Logs” Navajo symbol etched onto it (not a Nazi Swastika). The symbol represents a legend from Navajo creation stories of a culture hero who hollowed out a log to travel down a river, gaining celestial knowledge and escaping whirlpools. The symbol is over 6,000 years old and still used in sacred, ceremonial sandpaintings.
